How the Argument Arena Works
Every debater can submit arguments they have already written on VersyTalks. Locate one of your existing arguments and click Submit to Arena.
Once submitted, your argument enters the current month’s Arena and becomes visible in the platform-wide rankings and discovery feeds. The result is greater visibility for thoughtful arguments and more opportunities for meaningful engagement.
- Other members can read, vote for, and rebut your argument.
- Readers can follow your profile, save, and share your work.
- Members can gift coaching evaluations on your argument.
- People can discover your other debates and contributions.
Why Submit an Argument?
The Arena helps great ideas reach a larger audience and gives your strongest reasoning a longer life beyond a single debate thread.
- Increased visibility: your argument can be discovered by debaters who never saw the original debate.
- More rebuttals: Arena arguments are designed to encourage further discussion and counterargument.
- More followers: readers who appreciate your reasoning can follow your profile.
- Coaching opportunities: arguments often receive attention from coaches, judges, and experienced debaters.
- Build your portfolio: the Arena creates a public record of your strongest contributions.
Discover Great Arguments
The Arena is not only for submitting arguments — it is one of the best places on VersyTalks to discover outstanding work. You can browse arguments by topic, popularity, date, category, and more.
- Outstanding reasoning and creative perspectives.
- Effective rebuttals and high-quality evidence usage.
- Popular discussions and coach-recommended arguments.
- Emerging debaters worth following.
Rebut Arguments Directly
One of the most important Arena features is the ability to challenge ideas. When you find an argument you disagree with, click Rebut This Argument.
Your response becomes directly connected to the original argument, and a comprehensive, easy-to-follow rebuttal map is created for each argument. This creates deeper conversations and helps debaters refine their reasoning through direct engagement.
Coach Picks
Not every great argument receives the most votes. To help surface exceptional work, coaches and judges can select arguments as Coach Picks.
Coach Picks are chosen based on argument quality, reasoning, evidence, clarity, originality, and overall debating strength — ensuring thoughtful arguments receive recognition regardless of popularity.
Debate Coaching Through the Arena
The Arena is one of the easiest places to begin or receive debate coaching on VersyTalks. If you want feedback on one of your arguments, you can request an evaluation directly through the platform.
This transforms the Arena from a simple showcase into a powerful debate training tool.
- Argument structure, logic, and reasoning.
- Evidence usage and persuasiveness.
- Rebuttal strategy and communication quality.
- Clear, specific areas for improvement.
Gift Evaluations to Other Debaters
One of the most unique Arena features is the ability to support fellow debaters. If you encounter an argument that deserves feedback, you can gift a professional evaluation directly to its author.
Choose an evaluation type and coach, and the recipient receives a complete review of their work. Many debaters receive their first coaching experience through gifted evaluations from other members.
- Community mentorship and skill development.
- Positive recognition and constructive feedback.
Monthly Rankings
Every month, the Arena highlights the arguments that generated the most community engagement. Historical rankings are preserved, letting you revisit outstanding arguments from previous months.
- Most Votes and Most Rebutted.
- Most Discussed and Fastest Growing.
- Coach Favorites.
