Thanksgiving is a popular holiday where everyone feasts and shares prayers of what they're thankful for. But how Thanksgiving came to be is a much darker story: Thanksgiving has historical ties to the colonization and genocide of Native Americans, causes stress and family conflict, and typically promotes unhealthy eating habits.
