Should the individual serve society, or society serve the individual?
...Human life exists between the individual and the larger society. Every person has needs, goals, and a sense of self, but at the same time, people are shaped by the communities, institutions, and social systems around them. Society provides structure, rules, and shared resources that make life organized and cooperative. Serving, in this context, refers to the actions, responsibilities, or roles that people take on in relation to others.
