Superheroes killing villains would imply that they have the authority to make serious judgments within their own jurisdiction. In general fiction, superheroes coexist with the government but mostly act as separate entities. They do not try villains or criminals on their own; rather, they play a role as enforcers of the law, like the police. If heroes were given the authority to kill people at their own discretion, it would imbalance the justice system. The justice a hero imposes by killing a villain would be based solely on their own perspective, which may be clouded by bias or misinformation. Furthermore, there is no guarantee that heroes won't exploit it by framing innocent people.

THis could be summarise by my favouritelines from Avatar( The cartoon). When the Uncle refused to fight fire lord as history would remember it as a Brother killing Brother for power. It would same for society, instead of seeing it as heroism they would percieve it as power vs power. People would still worship him but not all people will believe as symbol of protection

In short, yes. Superheroes, if put in the right context, could kill their associated villains. Because heroes have people that depend on them, heroes would be capable on ending the villain's life, if it meant protecting the greater good and/or the people they love and protect.

If a hero were to kill a villain, would they be any better than a villain themselves? In many stories, there are the 2 sides of hero and villain, but some stories like to delve deeper into what actually makes a villain. In a lot of circumstances villains are people who have been hurt, shunned, and ignored by society and it's because of it that they feel obliged to reflect their pain back on those who wronged them. Killing the villain would not stop the hate, as it would just spread to their supporters and create an ever lasting cycle that endlessly repeats. The only true way for a villain's influence to cease is for them to realize the wrongs of their ways on their own terms.

If a superhero is 'super', it means they were given some kind of unnatural talent or power considered superhuman, and that they use their powers for the greater good instead of individual good or harm. There are very little people that are defined as superheroes. Some of them turn out to be heroes, some of them turn out villains.
