Should domestic cats be allowed outside without supervision?

Many people have let their cats roam outdoors as a way to control rodents and to provide their cats with enrichment. However there are concerns as outdoor cats going missing or getting injured and killed have been on the rise, along with the burden wildlife rehabilitators and conservation scientists face with attempting to save small animals that have been attacked by cats.
