Space exploration is not a bad thing, because it helps us gain knowledge of our universe, allowing us to apply it to our own world and use it to our advantage. On the other hand though, space exploration is economically costly, threatens our environment, and uses valuable resources and energy that are already becoming limited. NASA gets less than 1% of tax revenue from the US government, which doesn't seem like a lot but actuals total to around 25 billion dollars (in 2025-2026). That is almost half of the money it would take to solve world hunger. 25 billion dollars could also be used in fighting against climate change, which space exploration heavily contributes to (6 million tonnes of CO2 annually).
