Do violent video games contribute to real-life violence?

It all depends on how mentally stable the player is. Someone that becomes more violent after playing a video game, then there's an underlying mental condition. I've seen children blow things out of context just from playing Lego games or Minecraft. So we couldn't exactly pin the blame on video games that are violent when just about any video game can influence a child in a negative way.

Studies have shown that an over playing from a very young age can distort the right and wrong of violence in a young child's mind and teens.

Assuming that here the games containing blood, guns etc. are considered violent. Yes there is some effect of any of such "violent" games - just for some short period of time, But isn't that the same type of effect that violent movies have upon us too ?Yes there are some cases we know in which a player went extreme after playing a game. But that can be with pretty much everything. On the contrary I think they taught us terms like: Recoil, FPS, types of guns i.e. smgs or rifles etc.

It can contribute, Every media could have a catharsis effect. Repeated Exposition of violent thing alter your perception of thing, it's proved by a lot of serious study and tend to trivialised it. We should take this concern seriously as a society, and we should grad video game aged appropriately. We should also limit what you can do in those video game.

Games are developed in the concept to develop user's mind to certain point but not to turn them into the same actions because they're just thoughts in movement not reality .Educational games can't turn users 100% bright and pass the academic tests nor do the violent games can not make one violent to 100% but there is an introductory part they create in some one's life .it is built from inside ,if it's educational one will shift position and won't fear tests any more because he plays them

I technically have no stance in that it can go both ways. For that exact reason, it is impossible to say with 100% certainty that that is always the reason or that it applies to everyone. I believe that life is whatever you make it, so for some people they take see violence in video games and apply it to real-life. However this type of questions leads to the belief that violent video games should be banned, however similar to the book question, limiting it doesn't solve the root problem.

it will always depend on the adult he will see violence pretty much everyday.A movie , cartoon and even music i think guide them and make them learn to differentiate games and real life would be the way to go!

It's the user's fault for them to go and rage mode when in real life scenarios where they start breaking stuff to encourage more violence it is not the game's fault it is entirely the user's fault

Yes, violent video games contribute to real life violent because of the major influence they have on the person playing them. Studies show that the people who grew up watching horror movie and gore tend to be diagnosed with mental health disorders or in constant depression or anger. This is the same for video games. Because these games encourage violence, threats, physical strength used for wrong purposes and theft. Everything has an influence on an individual, either positively or negatively. But video games definitely have an effect on the gamer and possibly in the future, will use the things they learned as a form of ''defence'' against their partner for example ( dating, engagement or even marriage towards their partner or kids)
